Smile Makeovers

More than meets the eye, a beautiful smile has the potential to positively transform your life.

Dr. Pasha is recognized for outstanding cosmetic dental treatments, including smile makeovers, with his ability to deliver natural, balanced smiles that address individuals' unique attributes.

More Than Meets The Eye

Most people don't realize that teeth are just one of the many components of an individual's smile. The overall shape and individual features of the face, muscle mobility of the lips and jaws, and the shape and tone of facial muscles all play a role in how a smile is perceived.

A smile is similar to a painting on a wall. How a painting is perceived by the viewer has to do with the relationship between the size and colours in the artwork itself as well as the size, shape and colour of the frame. Art is also affected by the colour of the wall that it is placed on, the lighting in the room, as well as other objects that are placed within its vicinity.

As a dental professional with a focus on cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Pasha leverages his expertise to create facial harmony through the power of the smile. He addresses each patient's unique facial features and attributes to develop customized smile solutions. In his assessments he considers teeth positioning, shape, colour, relationship to the surrounding gum tissues, and the patient's lips.

Dr. Pasha ensures that every smile is designed to maximize oral health while accentuating an individual's unique beauty.

What is a Smile Makeover?

The concept of a "smile makeover" is somewhat subjective and complex in nature, thus a "makeover" can be interpreted differently amongst individuals.

Dr. Pasha believes that a smile makeover is a result of one or more successful dental treatments that provide patients with positive transformations. A beautiful smile has the potential to transform an individual's life through both their improved physical appearance and even their personal self confidence.

What procedures does a Smile Makeover involve?

Some smile makeovers could include teeth whitening or may even involve drastically changing the colour of teeth. Others may involve a complicated process of restoring and/or replacing teeth to change the overall appearance of a smile through dental procedures such as porcelain veneers, dental implants, crowns, bridges, and dental bonding.

What is the process of a Smile Makeover?

Appointment 1: Defining Your Smile Goals

The process starts with an initial conversation. This is an extremely important step as it sets the tone for understanding your smile goals. Remember, what one person finds attractive may be unacceptable by another individual. In order for Dr. Pasha to provide a customized solution for you he has to know what you're hoping to achieve.

Appointment 2: Information Collection and Compilation*

Once Dr. Pasha understands your priorities and desired outcomes, the Wellington Aurora Dental team proceeds with collecting necessary, detailed information. This step is internally referred to as a "records" appointment. During this step, many helpful details are gathered about the appearance, function, and structure of your smile using videos, photos, models, 3D scans, x-rays and manual measurements of your mouth and face.

Once this information is collected, Dr. Pasha develops and designs a comprehensive, customized plan to create a pathway to achieve your goal.

Appointment 3: Presentation of Treatment Options

Dr. Pasha provides an in-person, detailed presentation that addresses various treatment options and alternative approaches. Discussing details of the pros and cons of each option as well as associated costs, he will happily answer any questions you might have.

How long do Smile Makeovers last?

The short answer is: it depends. Each patient's case has it's own set of factors that could affect the endurance of a smile makeover. For instance, many smile makeovers involve multiple procedures involving more than one dental professional and/or material used. Dr. Pasha discusses each patient's smile makeover and their own unique set of factors on a case-by-case basis

Orthodontics or Braces

For example, if a smile makeover was completed primarily with orthodontics or braces, then the success rate will be dependent on how well a patient wears their retainer and the extent of the natural movement of their teeth.

Whitening Procedures

If whitening procedures were completed, the effects will last for shorter or longer periods of time based on the individual's diet. The amount of colourful foods and drinks an individual consumes plays a major role.

Dental Restorations (e.g. Veneers, Crowns, Bridges)

If dental restorations such as veneers, crowns and bridges are completed, the success rate depends on the condition of the underlying tooth structure as well as the amount of force and strain placed on the teeth.

The healthier the initial structure of the tooth, the longer the restoration will last. Additionally, significant strain and forces on the teeth can result in greater wear and tear thus affecting the success rate of the smile makeover.

Dental Implants

There are many factors that affect the longevity of a smile makeover. If dental implants are involved, long term success is dependent on routine maintenance, the systemic health of the patient, the health of the gum tissues, and the amount of chronic force being placed upon the implant restorations.

Dr. Pasha recognizes that behind every beautiful smile there must be a consistent, dedicated plan for oral health.
